Egmont’s park

Egmont’s park is a 19th-century park surrounding Egmont’s castle. The park´s old trees such as common yew and beech date from that period. During summer the park plays host to a range of events and concerts. Since 1968 a wrought-iron Egmont’s statue has stood next to the castle. It was created in 1872 by sculptor Calloigne and until 1968 stood on the market place. Egmont’s park has been a protected heritage site since 1987.
